Lion King Mural
Process
This was a massive, but exciting endeavor. My nephew was on the way, so my sister asked me to paint a mural for his nursery/bedroom. It took some questioning, but I was soon able to find out what she wanted depicted across the walls.
So the work began. I had an idea of what colors I wanted to splash about, so I grabbed some Disney wall paint and set to it. I brushed down coats of primer colors where the various rocks, grass, and clouds would be. Piece by piece, layers of shading and lighting were added. Then finally the characters were sketched out and painted in place. Depicted here are several shots starting from when the wall was a canvas of blue to the finished mural, complete with Mufasa, Sarabi, Rafiki, and little Simba. |
